Shady Grove’s Preteen ministry
is a division of the Children’s Ministry. The preteen program has been designed for students 10-12 years of age. In this program we focus on strengthening their relationships with GOD and others. We also target new issues preteens face as they make the transition to becoming youth. Under the direction of Pastor Leigh Bartoli, Children’s and Preteen minister, and lay leadership of Cathie Moore, we are devoted to creating a loving, Christ-centered environment for preteens where they can grow their faith as they continue their walk with GOD.
Wednesday Night Live
Every Wednesday of each month from 6:30-7:30 pm, Preteens will have the opportunity to gather for small group Bible study that helps to connect the Bible to their everyday life.
is a Sunday night program designed just for Preteens! This program will be held at the same time, 4:00-6:00 PM, as the Clubhouse children’s program and Da Shade youth program.
Our preteens will have the opportunity to begin CLUB 56 with a snack and then group worship time will be held in the Fellowship Hall. We will explore GOD, using a combination of praise & worship music, skits, His Holy Word, and discussion of topics relevant to life as a preteen.
We then move into small groups, separated by gender, to dig deeper into our changing lives and how we can deal with issues students are facing from a Christian perspective to determine His will for our lives. Preteen small groups are located in the West Building on the third floor and in the South Building on the main floor.
5th Grade: Wesley Way Our Fifth Grade
Sunday school class is currently using Wesley curriculum that is rooted deeply in God’s Word. Every lesson has a firm foundation in Scripture, and is biblically accurate. Each lesson helps students dig into the Bible and apply biblical truths to their daily lives.
Our Sixth Grade Sunday School begins spiritual formation through confirmation education. During this school year we will ask those interested to make a public profession of faith in a confirmation service that embraces the Christian faith and accept the responsibilities of Christian discipleship. Students in 6th Grade will travel to other churches to visit and take a spring retreat. They will also be involved in various service activities throughout the year. They will then make their profession of faith in May on Confirmation Sunday.
